Jasa Marga was founded in 1978 when the first highway linking Jakarta to Bogor completed. With consideration for operating costs and road maintenance can be done independently without burdening the Government budget, Ministry of Public Works at the time, Ir. Sutami proposed the establishment of a limited company to manage the road. Issuance of Government Regulation No. 4 of 1978 concerning Capital Investment of the Republic of Indonesia for the establishment of national state.
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) was established on March 1, 1978 with the purpose of organizing a toll road in Indonesia. On March 9, 1978, President Soeharto inaugurated the toll road as the first toll road in Indonesia which was named Jagorawi which employed 200 people.
Since then Jasa Marga with the government continue to build new toll roads in the Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya and Medan. Until the late 80s, Jasa Marga is the only toll road operator in Indonesia, until then the Government is also inviting private investors. that function as regulators become toll road investors from the Government. Jasa Marga is ready to compete with private toll road investors to build, operate and maintain toll roads.
On November 12, 2007, Jasa Marga status changed to a public company with its 30% stake to the public through the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
Until now Jasa Marga has built and operates the 14 (fourteen) toll road along the 531 km, which is managed by 9 (nine) Branch offices and 2 (two) Subsidiaries of PT Jakarta Outer Ring Road Toll (JLJ) and PT Marga Sarana Jabar which operates the Bogor Ring Road, with employees more than 5,000 people.
Jasa Marga continued to take steps to maximize shareholder value. Modernization, Good Corporate Governance, Human Resources Efficiency and reliable basis toward the improvement of enterprise value to remain a "Leader" in the toll road industry is a firm commitment at this time and in the future.

In line with changes in the laws and government regulations regarding toll road through Law no. 38 of 2004 on Road and PP No.15 of 2005 on the Toll Road, where the role of Jasa Marga which was originally as otorisator, developer and operator, turned into a developer and operators only, then the Company since 2006 has changed the vision and mission are as follows:

32 Year Track Record in Building and Operating the Toll Road.During the 32 years existence of the toll road in Indonesia, Jasa Marga proven and experienced in building and operating toll roads in Indonesia. Starting from Jagorawi Toll Road in 1978 and last until the Toll Road in 2003 and JORR Cipularang Jatiasih-Cikunir segment in 2007 Jasa Marga has had 13 all of which are toll roads built and managed by Jasa Marga.
Jasa Marga As It Is 'Leader' in Toll Road Industry in Indonesia.
  
The total length of highways that are owned by Jasa Marga is 531 km or 72% of the length of toll roads in Indonesia to reach 738 km. Toll roads already in operation is an asset of the Company which has the potential to continue to grow with the addition of the acquisition of concessions that are connected with an existing toll road. The volume of traffic that has been formed that is owned Jasa Marga will be higher again with the toll road, the new toll road that would connect. Currently, Jasa Marga continued to perform at the completion of seven new toll roads that have been owned concessions by Jasa Marga, namely:

Jasa Marga is now introducing an electronic transaction or the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) that will speed transaction time for road users and the ease of payment which will be valid all toll roads in Indonesia. Public Company and Modern.Jasa Marga has become a public company and listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange since the Government sold 30% shares to the public on November 12, 2007.





Marga Services business is to build and provide toll road services. For that Jasa Marga perform the activities as follows:

    1. Invest in building a new highway.
    2. Operate and maintain the highway.
    3. Develop other businesses, such as rest areas, advertising, fiber optic network and others, to improve service to road users and improve the Company's operating results.
    4. Develop other businesses within the motorway corridor.


Business Map Jasa Marga

Currently, Jasa Marga manages and operates 13 concessions (concessions) toll road through nine branches and one subsidiary based concession rights granted directly by the Government to Jasa Marga. Of the 13 concessions, three of whom are additional toll roads in Java with a total length reached 119 km, the Bogor Ring Road, Semarang, Solo and Gempol-Pasuruan. Jasa Marga seeks to get more concessions of toll roads in Indonesia, including the Trans Java highway that has been planned.

Drs. Kingpin Priyono, MScLahir on September 22, 1946. Currently serves as Secretary Vice President (2005 - present). He was previously Secretary General of the National Commission on Human Rights, Secretary General of the Ministry of Settlement and Regional Infrastructure, the Director General of Cipta Karya Department of Public Works, Housing Development Commissioner (Persero) and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Public Corporation Housing. S1 degree in Economics from Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta (1970), while the field of Agricultural Economic S2 from the Australian National University (1981).


2. DR. Joyo Winoto - Commissioner
